Albania is a small but pretty country in the Mediterranean region of Europe, not far from Italy. It is probably the least visited countries in the Mediterranean but that is slowly changing as more people become aware of its fantastic sites. It has amazing, pure white sandy beaches, pristine mountain regions, and bustling, changing cities.
Albania’s clean sandy beaches are extraordinary. Albanian beaches are usually white, sandy beaches although there are some pebble beaches as well. You could lie down in the bright sun on a mat or lease a bed, the option is yours. Plenty of the beaches are practically untouched by foreign visitors and a handful are so quiet that you can possibly have the beach all to yourself, even in summer.
There are plenty of fantastic mountain landscapes in Albania. Those in the north are perfect for skiing or hiking and you can visit plenty of waterfalls and astonishing lakes in the area. The mountains in the north are brilliant to visit but the other mountain regions are also great.
Albanian cities are bustling with a cafe culture so there are plenty of cool cafes to visit. Albania cities including Shkodra are worth seeing to view the unusual old city area and also to visit a few museums.
People from Albania are very warm and will be more than glad to take you around their country if you take the time to visit it.
